How do I apply for employment with the BST&G Fire District?
You may pick up an application at the BST&G Joint Fire Department located at 350 W. Cherry Street. When the station is hiring applications will also be available through a link on the website. The completed application must returned in person to the station.
How do I schedule a fire inspection?
To schedule an inspection, call the station and ask to speak with the Fire Prevention Inspector at (740)965-3841. Please allow 72 hours prior to your requested inspection date.
When are the tornado sirens tested in Sunbury?
The village of Sunbury is now linked to the Delaware County-wide siren system. The sirens are no longer tested every Wednesday at noon, but are now tested the first Wednesday of every month at noon. The community warning sirens are designed to warn persons outdoors that they should take shelter.
Does BST&G use 9-1-1 as an emergency number?
Yes. Delaware County dispatchers answer emergency 9-1-1 calls from residents and businesses in the Delaware County area. Depending on the call, the dispatcher will either notify the Police, Fire or EMS immediately of the situation.
How can I get my Carbon Monoxide level checked in my house?
Carbon monoxide or CO is a colorless, odorless and tasteless gas. Due to this fact, it is very hard to detect the presence of CO in your home. If you suspect a problem with the level of CO in your home, go outside and call 9-1-1 immediately. The BST&G Joint Fire Department will be dispatched and will read the levels of CO in your home.
How can I get a copy of a fire report?
Fire Incident Reports are available for a $10.00 fee. Call (740) 965-3841 to request this report.
What is a knox Box and do I need one?
A Knox Box, or better known as a Key Lock Box, is a high security key box system designed to give emergency service personnel immediate access to a structure. Any Commercial structure must have a Key Lock Box installed per Ohio Fire Code 506.1. Residential Knox Boxes and Knox Key Switches for driveway gates are also available. The master key to the Key Lock Box is maintained by the BST&G Joint Fire Department, which has sole responsibility to granting access to the home or business. Contact the BST&G Fire Prevention Bureau at (740) 965-3841 to obtain a Key Lock Box order form or for more information on the Key Lock Box.
